Learning How To Charge A Juul Without A Charger
JUUL is a widespread brand of vaporizer that has a rechargeable battery, allowing you to use it for a long time. Each time the battery is low, you only need to charge the battery with a USB charger that usually comes with the JUUL kit. However, if you lose it, you don't need to worry, since you can easily make your own charger with a Phone cord. This guide will look at how to charge a JUUL without a charger.
How does JUUL work?
A JUUL is a device that works just like a vaporizer. It heats a cartridge containing oils, which creates a vapor that dissolves into the air. This Juul device resembles a flash drive, and you can easily fit it in a closed fist. JUUL is mostly designed to be used by adults only, and it comes in different flavors that include Creme Brulee, mango and mint.
However, you should know that JUUL contains nicotine. A single cartridge usually contains nicotine equal to a pack of cigarettes. So it is required that you are very cautious while using it because it can have long-term effects, especially when taken by young adults or during adolescence.
Now that we understand how JUUL works let's dive in ad look at how to charge a Juul without a charger.
How To Charge a Juul Without a Charger
Most JUUL users misplace their chargers or dock, which means they can need a temporary solution to get their JUUL charged before getting a new replacement. In case of these emergencies, we have looked at a way to get your JUUL charged.
Step 1: Get a Cord or Usb Cable with a USB plug
The first set is to get a cable or a USB plug on one end that fits the JUUL charging spot. You can get an unused android USB charger, a smartphone connector, or any other electronic device charger. The good bit is that you could also use a micro USB charger to make your JUUL charger.
Step 2: Cut the smaller end of the USB Cable
During this step, you need to ensure that the cable you have is unplugged first before proceeding. Next is to cut off the side of the cable that you usually plug into your smartphone. You can use wire cutters or a pair of scissors. Ensure that you don't cut the end to connect to the power input or power bank.
Step 3: Free Up the Two Essential Wires
Once you have cut your USB charger cable, you will find a few wires inside. Usually, there will be white, black, red and black wires. The wires you will be using to make your Juul chargers are red and black. So, this step will be to separate the other wires that you will not be using that are green and white.
You can fold them up and fasten them using electrical tape. For safety purposes, you need to ensure that the ends of the wires are covered using electrical tape.
Step 3: Strip the red and black wires
When you have cut off one end, you will find four wires, white, green, black and red wire. You will then need to strip the red and the black wires inside your cable. When that is done, separate the black and red wires from each other. Then place your scissors or your wire cutters against one wire, either black or red and strip off the plastic casing.
When you are done, do the same for the other cord. Essentially you should strip off about a quarter or half an inch inches from both ends of the wires. Most importantly, ensure that you don't stir the green or white wires while doing this process. However, you might find that the black wire may be in a silver casing instead in some cases.
Step 4: Twist the Metal Filaments
After removing the plastic insulator from the red and black wires, you will need to twist the metal filaments on the inside to prevent them from being scattered or touching. Twisting the metal filaments will also keep the stand safe from breaking. Again it will create a solid contact point for charging.
This is to ensure that they won't scatter around when used. Twisting them will also keep the small strands from breaking, and it will also create a much solid contact point for charging.
Step 5: Tape the wires in place
The last step will be to position the wires in place so that your Juul charger can function properly. Next, you will lay your JUUL flat on a surface with the LED side facing up to ensure that you can easily monitor your LED to see when your device is fully charged or if it even works.
You will then guide the red and black wires to the bottom of your JUUL and plug them to the left and rightmost ports. The idea is to guide the red and black wires to the golden slots of your Juul device. It would be best to push the wires as far as possible to get a secure connection.
Step 6: Plug the cable into a USB wall charger
The next step is to test if the makeshift charger works. Plug the other end of your phone charger cable into a wall charger, a portable power bank or a portable battery. You mustn't use a laptop or other electrical devices with a USB port since it could cause a short circuit or render the device useless.
You will reposition the wires until you see the light flashing on your JUUL. When you see the light flashing, it means that your charger is working, and you could use electrical tape to fasten the base of your JUUL. If your device has a red light, it means that the device has a low charge, yellow light is for medium-charge, and when it has the green light, it means it has a high charge.
Usually, your JUUL DIY charger will charge a Juul for about an hour. If you notice that your light does not start flashing after plugging it into the power source, you should try using another power source to see if it works.
Again you will need to ensure that the power source is close by if you need to adjust the wires. Plus, you should never leave your makeshift charger plugged in if you are not using it because it may cause a fire. Also, never leave your JUUL device unattended while it's charging since it has exposed wires.
Additional Tips to Help You With the Juul charger
To get your JUUL charger working and help make the process much easier, we have noted some tips that would help:
It is always recommended that you work on a flat surface while charging th JUUL with your DIY charger. When on a flat surface, the device will charge without disturbance. Again it will reduce the chances of the charger shifting accidentally.
Using electrical tape to hold the wires and device in position while charging will greatly help. In addition, when the wires are taped together, the wires will be concealed, proving an even more stable charging.
Ensure that you don't cut or twit the wires when they are plugged into the charging port because you might get shocked
Using a wire cutter, a pair of scissors, and pliers will make your work more manageable. With these tools, you will get the job done without damaging the wires inside.
You can use an iPhone charger, but an Android charger will also work fine.
Twisting and eating the metal filament will provide more efficient charging.
If you cannot fold the unwanted wires or don't like the idea, you could choose to cut them abit lower than the red and black wires. Then twist the red and green wires and the black and white wires together.
Also, you could trim the green and white wires at the base since you will not need them. But, again, ensure that the red and black wires do not touch since it is likely that they will cause a spark.
You could plug the JUUL device charger into any USB port. However, using Laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles USB ports could cause a short circuit or even completely damage the devices.
It is also advisable to store the batteries fully charged to help keep them clean.
Risks For Making A DIY Juul Charger
When taking the DIY Juul charger, you must understand the risks involved. Here are the risks you should look out for:
I. Damaging the Juul Device
The first and most common danger of charging your Juul with the homemade charger is that it could damage the device. In some cases, the makeshift charger tends to accumulate too much current, damaging the device.
Another major issue would be connecting the wires or charging pins wrongly. In these cases, you will find that there will be a short circuit causing damages to the device.
2. Could cause an Accident
It is recommended not to leave the makeshift charger unattended when using the makeshift charger. Since you will be using exposed wires, there is a high possibility of causing accidents like a fire.
3. Putting You in Harm's Way
Another risk of making and using a homemade charger is a high chance of getting electrocuted. As we stated, one of the steps involves cutting the cable with the USB plug, mostly for the unused Android charger cable.
